Laura Ames Salazar

Laura Ames Salazar entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at home in Arlington, Virginia surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 6, 1924 in Arequipa, Peru. Laura is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 75 years, Javier Salazar Lazo, her daughters Beatriz Mesones, Laura Salazar, Lourdes Cespedes, her son Javier Salazar, and her sister Marcela Benavente de Abarca.
Laura will be forever remembered by her numerous grand children, great grand children and great-great grandchildren. She leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Laura is predeceased by her daughters Yenny Zavala Ames, Graciela Alban, and her son Jaime Salazar.
Laura was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her everyday. Relatives and friends are invited to Laura’s Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Thursday, February 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA on Friday, February 7 at 10:00 a.m.
