Lynn Eugene Claussen

Lynn Eugene Claussen, the son of Albert John Claussen and Doris Mae (Deen) Claussen, was born on July 30, 1944 in Bridgewater Iowa. He graduated from Elk Horn High School in the class of 1962. He received his mathematics degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 1966. On August 28, 1965, Lynn was united in marriage with Jo Ann Petersen at Calvary Baptist Church in Walnut, Iowa. Lynn and Jo Ann have two daughters, Traci Sullivan (married to Ted Sullivan), and Kelly Saunders (married to Ron Saunders), as well as seven grandchildren, Melissa Saunders, Alicia (Saunders) Pitt (married to Bryan Pitt), Laura Sullivan, Phillip Sullivan, Sarah Saunders, Johnathan Sullivan, and Anna Sullivan.
After graduation from college, Lynn served as an officer in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam. In 1969, Lynn left the Army and started his 25 year career at Mobil Oil, where he served in many different roles in distribution and information technology. He retired from Mobil as CIO Europe. After leaving Mobil, he worked as an information technology management consultant both on his own as well as with several different consulting companies. His last job was as vice president of service delivery at SAP.
Lynn was a long time member of Expectation Church in Fairfax Virginia. He was an active volunteer for the local Republican Party and enjoyed a number of hobbies including woodworking, shooting, scuba diving, hiking, camping, giving advice to his grandchildren, and taking long walks in the woods with his dog, Brody.
Lynn is survived by Jo Ann Claussen, his wife of 53 years, as well as his daughters and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19 from 3:00 pm until time of funeral service, 4:00 pm., at Expectation Church; 4601 West Ox Rd.; Fairfax, VA 22030.

Sorry to hear of Lynn’s passing plus miss seeing this earlier. I worked for him and enjoyed his drive, leadership, humor and advice for a few years in the SAP Hosting group. I know his family was an important part of life so certain that his guidance, love and words will be missed there. God bless to all left behind and God speed to Lynn into his next life.
