Maria (Carmy) Serino (GG), 96, of Reston, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2021. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years Dr. Victor J. Serino. She is survived by her daughters Maria L. Fitzgerald (Brian) of Fairfield CT., and Victoria J. Sabo (William) of Reston, VA., and sons Domenic M. Serino (Patricia) of Port St. Lucie FL., and Thomas J. Serino (Deborah) of Fairfield, CT. She leaves nine grandchildren who adored her and sixteen great grandchildren who will miss their GG. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A member of the Greatest Generation, Carmy enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a kind woman with a backbone of steel. She worked as an Executive Secretary at GE during WW II and for many years she was the office manager of her husband’s dental practice. A volunteer extraordinaire, she served on the Executive Board of the Bridgeport Women’s Dental Auxiliary and was a volunteer at St. Vincent’s Hospital, the Jupiter Medical Center, and the Red Cross.

Carmy was a sports enthusiast who loved to golf and to watch her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in artistic and athletic endeavors. She was a long-time member of Riverbend Golf Club of Tequesta, FL. Carmy was a voracious reader, an accomplished, competitive bridge player, and a devout Catholic.

The greatest joy in Carmy’s life was her family. Carmy greeted everyone she met with a warm smile and radiant blue eyes.

A funeral service will be at a date to be determined at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either First Tee or Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, DC (https://www.catholiccharitiesdc.org/donate/memorial-honorary-gifts/).
