  1. My brotha, never will forget your kindness and prayers when I told you about my dad having cancer, the holy water you brought for him. Never once ask for prayer for yourself, so selfless always thinking of others! Now your finally at rest. Thank you and GOD bless…. RIP my friend. Mike M. DCA

  2. Mike was an awesome coworker and friend, he was proud of who he was and loved to share the music he played with anyone who wanted to listen, it was an honer to know and call Mike(jo jo black) my friend

  3. Mike was great person with an amazing faith. He was also an excellent musician but contrary to the obituary he was an amazing lead guitarist not a bassist!! Being a close friend I know he would want that corrected. He spent a good part of his life mastering the guitar.

  4. Dear Bill and family,, Michael was a saint on earth. It pains me greatly to learn of his loss. Always a smile on his face and love in his heart.

  5. My Deepest condolences to the Hoffman Family and I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a very good friend of mine a coworker and band mate. A true musician! We had some great times together and I will truly miss him. May you rest in peace Mike and let the four winds blow you safely home. Steve Hill

  6. My sincere and deepest condolences to the Hoffman family regarding the loss of Mike.
My ex-husband, Kurt von Sternberg, and Mike were the best of friends. Kurt’s mom Millicent and Mike’s mom Doris were best friends.
I spent a lot of time with the Hoffmans. Mike and Kurt loved to jam together, and with other friends. I was so sad to read of his passing and the only way I knew was because his brother wrote a lovely tribute on Kurt’s legacy wall. Rest in peace Mike. You were truly a kind soul and one that I am glad I got to know.
    Madelyn Roche (frmly von Sternberg)
