Guestbook

    • Our prayers and thoughts are with Mary and Joseph, and everyone who loved Mike. Michael we miss you, and you will always be by big brother! Janet Lucian Jaclyn and Jenny

  1. Dear Mary and Joseph, I am so very, very sorry to hear about Mike. Deepest condolences to you and Joseph. My heart aches for you… May your memories help you and Joseph through this sad time. Love you, Mirjana

  2. Lord, in this life you embraced Michael Joseph Eckert, “Mike”, with your tender love; grant him eternal rest. Welcome him into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. We pray that Mike’s family and friends hold on to the cherished memories of Mike and all we have loved and lost in this lifetime. I worked with Mike while we were employed with James J. Madden, Inc. some years ago. He was one of the many great Building Trades Journeymen Plumber – Gasfitters who taught me, and others, the trade. His legacy lives on with the Plumbers Local Union No. 5 members who carry on the effort to enhance health and safety for our communities. Lou Spencer Assistant Business Manager UA Local 5 Plumbers and Gasfitters

    • Lou your words mean so much to me, and my family. As a daughter, and sister of 3 generations of Master Plumbers in the Local 5 family, Edward Eckert, Mike, and Roy Eckert, I am deeply touched by your words. You have described Michael’s work ethic to a tee, not to mention the pride and dedication to his work. He will be missed by many. Janet Eckert DiTanna

    • Thank you Lou for your kind words. You described Mike to a “T”. He always took such pride in his work. He would be honored to read your words

  3. Always ready to greet you with a wry smile and firm handshake, I first met Mike in 2005 as our sons entered kindergarten. Over the years I came to know Mike as a thoughtful, humble man who enjoyed baseball, fishing, and camping with Joseph. A skilled tradesman, Mike would have stories of little known DC history as he worked downtown on renovations of some of our nation’s treasured buildings. Fair winds and following seas my friend. You will be missed!

    • Roy I am sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Prayers to you and your family. I went to school with you and Mike. Patty Payne
