Randy George Curtis

Randy George Curtis was born and raised in Fairfax County and spent about 58 years living in Vienna, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of more than 41 years, Karen Curtis, and his 2 adult children; Kevin and Rebecca Curtis. He is the son of George (of Vienna) and Glenna (deceased) Curtis. He is also the brother of Linda and (James) Wheeler of Falls Church, Steven and (Eleanor) Curtis of Fairfax and Patricia and (Brett) Crimmel of Buena Vista, Colorado. Randy is the proud Uncle of fourteen nieces and nephews, and four Grand nieces and nephews who reside in Virginia, Colorado, Ohio and Tennessee.

Randy was a machinist/mechanic by trade and worked at Rental Tools, Kenson Motors, and spent 36 years of his career at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland in the Shops Branch and in the Water Treatment Plant in Poolesville, Maryland.

In his younger years Randy enjoyed backpacking on areas of the Appalachian Trail, in the Shenandoah Valley, and in West Virginia. Being a Machinist/Mechanic, he loved to repair things from clocks to diesel truck engines. Randy attended George C. Marshall High School in the mid-1970’s. He received his Associate Degree in Automotive Repair from Northern Virginia Community College in 1976-77. He also received a certificate from Cummings Diesel School in 1978.

Family is everything to him and he is loved by all very much. He was always giving back to the community in a “behind the scenes” way to his Church, Antioch Christian Church of Vienna, to Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting. Even in death, he is giving back to the community by being a donor to a research project for ALS at Georgetown University.
