Memories Timeline

Guestbook

    • I met Valerie when I joined the Vienna Choral Society. I immediately heard her British accent and gravitated toward her (being an anglophile). We became good friends, and we shared music, a love of jewelry (I always loved seeing what she wore!), England, and our dogs. It was devastating when she began to have memory issues, as well as health issues, and she could no longer sing in the chorus. Valerie also introduced me to the Oakton Women’s Club, which I joined and where I made many new friends. I have missed her and am grateful to her for her friendship and her big heart.

    • I met Valerie when her friend Josephine brought her to the Oakton Women’s Club. Valerie joined and brought so much to our club – she hosted many luncheon meetings in her and Tom’s lovely home, modeled in several of our Fashion Shows, served as an officer, and much more. Valerie smiled with her whole being and brought her generosity of spirit to us all.

  1. Valerie was my neighbor and friend for over 20+ years. Several years ago when I was getting ready for surgery, Valerie was the only person who managed to put my mind at ease because of her extensive work in the medical field. We also shared a love of dogs and her Bentley loved playing with my Bella. Probably one of the sweetest and kindest people I’ve ever known, and one who shared a birthdate with my own mom, I will always miss Valerie’s friendship and her gentle spirit. During the beginning of the pandemic last year, Valerie would walk Bentley down to our house – she just loved sitting in our rocker where she could look at the foliage in the neighborhood. I hope her family takes some comfort in knowing what a special human being she was and how she touched so many lives here on earth.

  2. I couldn’t ask for a better sister. Near / far you were always there for me. I was blessed to have you. I will love & miss you forever. R. I. P.

  3. In fond memory of Val – our dear sister, aunt and great aunt. With love from Deryck, Moya, Rachel, Tim and all the family here in England.
