Victoria Carroll Sullivan

Victoria Carroll Sullivan of Reston, VA, and formerly Warrenton, VA, departed this life on April 1, 2020. Victoria was born on November 2, 1956, in Kittery, ME, to Thomas and Patricia Carroll. Her Father, a naval officer, travelled the world, often with his family. These early experiences drove Victoria to love international travel and possess a true “joie de vivre.”

She was a United Airlines flight attendant for more than 40 years and still loved to take her next flight to a distant location, often accompanied by her husband as her “flying guest.”

Victoria graduated from Radford University in 1978 and from James Madison High School in Vienna, VA, in 1974.

Victoria is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, Arthur Sullivan, and her son, CPL Thomas Sullivan, USMC, and his wife, Brenna. She is also survived by her two sisters, Patricia Robinson and Mariana Klemm. She will be forever missed by her Mother in Law, Jean Sullivan, and her stepsons, Christopher Sullivan and Justin Sullivan, and step-daughter, Lauren Oakes, as well as by their respective families.

Her extended family will forever miss her constant kindness, generosity, and unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, and her Step-Mother, Jean Carroll, as well as her niece, Tara Robinson.

A celebration of her spectacular life will be held at the Dulles Marriott on August 22, 2020 from 3 to 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, Victoria respectfully requested your donation to The CAUSE Foundation (www.thecausefoundation.org).

You were the best cook and hostess, ever and always had a wonderful laugh and beautiful smile…..Our Shelties played in the yard, Murphy & Dakota and we watched Tommy grow from a little boy to a young handsome man. You truly will be forever in my thoughts and heart. May your soul rest in peace, Victoria………Love, your friend Linda

  8. Art and Tommy, I am so sorry to hear of Victoria’s passing. A beautiful soul always willing to help anyone. I loved spending time with her when Tommy and Andrew played football together and were in cub scouts together. I know she was an amazing mother, as Tommy was the center of her universe! She was an amazing wife to Art. Art, she always talked about you guys as if you were newlyweds and excited to see each other after her flying trips or your trips abroad. And the manner in which she cared for your Mom Art. She was a shining example of the best possible daughter-in-law that anyone could ask for. I often asked her advice. A beautiful lady all the way around. She will be missed forever.

So here goes….Happy hour with her mom and dad eati g sugar bread steamed rolls, cabbage leaves rolled with rice, pool morning g Noon and night, sitting under the widow tree, sitting by mailbox sweating waiting on friends. Tag football, luminaries, family block parties, sliding down the retention drain! , Just great times with good me.ories. prayers of strength and love to her sisters and family. I adored the e tire family. Love Suzanne Cox Platt

  10. I met Vic many years ago after we both started flying for our careers. She was such fun and always, I mean always, kind and generous. Flying together, haircuts at her townhouse in Manassas, a memorable scuba diving trip to Cozumel! And then she met you Art and you rocked her world! You swept her off of her feet and she never looked back! You and Tommy, then Brenna were the light and loves of her life! Add in your wonderful family who loved her from the get go, how could they not? Your love and care for her made her the happiest she had ever been. The last time she and I worked together, you came along. The other crew members were remarking about how lovely you are Art. Victoria, beamed and said” he is the nicest kindest person I have ever met”! And that comes from the nicest kindest person I have ever met. she adored you all and was in turn adored. What a wonderful life. My heart goes out to you all in you sadness and grief. Please know you are not alone in your sorrow. Love, Kim
