Obituary for Raymond Meisels

Raymond Meisels was born to Malvina (Molly) Herschkowitz Meisels and Mordecai (Morry) Meisels and sister Fay Meisels Chouinard March 19, 1948 in Yonkers, NY. A descendant of some of the most resilient and adaptive people in the world as we know it. He was a son, brother, father, uncle and beloved husband. In his early years he attended Yonkers High School and graduated from Central Connecticut University in 1966 with a degree in Psychology.

He was a natural born leader and athlete playing collegiate football and later became an avid golfer. Ray leaves behind three children Meredith, Melissa, and Michael and loving wife Janet Meisels, nieces Katie, Janet, Pam, and Meredith and five grandchildren Hailey, Zoe, Rhys, Elijah, and Owen. He was an amazing father, uncle and grandfather and will be missed. Ray was a great mentor and friend making an impact in many people’s lives. He worked as a civil servant for forty-two years.

Dad was our hero and guide through this life. A man that was so true to his word and his family. A man with a soft front and strong back. A provider of care and home---something we strive to be.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 18, at 10:00 am at Money and King Funeral Home; 171 Maple Ave W; Vienna, VA. Interment will follow the service at Flint Hill Cemetery in Oakton, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to team Miles for Meisels (event code 0319) for the Pedal it Out 9th Bikeride for Cancer Research (link below) or to the Adler Capital Care Center.
