On Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his residence in Warrenton, Va. Beloved husband of Iris Rinker, devoted father of Daniel P. Rinker (Ingrid), Susan Agin (Robert, Jr) and Ginger Mayhugh (Kenny), brother of Charles Edwin, Rufus P., Kenneth L., Leroy R. and the late Donald W. Rinker, grandfather of Crystal, Eric, Justin, Caitlin, Colin, Kori, Reed, Sarah, Tyler, Corie and Abby. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.

We were all part of the crew that grew up together on Blake Lane in Oakton, when Blake Lane was a gravel road. “Junior” and I had many an adventure from dirt-clod battles in the Rinker’s corn field to building dams in the creek near the Mills’ house. Fond memories of long-ago from a childhood friend.
Thoughts and prayers to the family of Ed.He was a good friend,mentor, neighbor and fellow worker.
Ed and Iris were one of the first people we met when moving into the neighborhood in ’94. I remember the meeting so well, because Gary & I said agreed what a good move it was, as The Rinkers were genuinely friendly and neighborly. This was proven to be true over and over again throughout the years. Ed made dreaded snowfalls all the much easier to deal with, as the “menfolk” would gather around with their toys–I mean tractors 😉 — and have good times getting a bad job done. We will miss him sorely, and our hearts go out to his wonderful family during this sad time.

Dear Iris, I first meet Ed in 1976 when I started with Vepco in Fairfax,Va. Ed was great to work with ,he was a great teacher,fun to be around.I know he liked to fish and hunt .I only worked with Ed for 2 years than I transfered to Kitty Hawk,NC, I had talked to Ed about two years ago and thanked him for helping me the 2 years I worked with him.You might remember me we traded vehicles a few times with the red ford truck. Chris,
