Pat was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital - Creighton University School of Nursing in 1950. She was the first president of the Nebraska State Student Nurses Association. She received her BIS degree from George Mason University in 1990.
Professionally Pat was a labor and delivery nurse, a job she absolutely loved. She worked in Louisiana, Ohio and Virginia hospitals, including 24 years at Inova Fairfax Hospital where she also taught childbirth classes and over 14 years at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital where she was APCD and an RN First Assistant.
Active in church affairs, Pat was the first woman to serve on the Diocesan Seminary Board when there was just the Diocese of Richmond in the state of Virginia. She held many other offices in several organizations.
Pat is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward; six children: Michael, Thomas, Susan, Robert, Mary Pat Weyback, and John; nine grandchildren: Timothy, Kristen, Brian, Carolyn, Rachel, Justin and Abigail Atwood and Matthew and Katherine Weyback; and one great-grandchild: Skylar Atwood.
Pat asked that her family 'forever remember me as loving you' and they assuredly will.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Springfield, VA at 11:15 am on Friday, December 2, 2016. A reception will immediately follow the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to: Inova Health Foundation Inova Children's Hospital.

So saddened to hear of Pat’s passing. We have so many wonderful memories of you visiting on the Portsmouth farm as well as when my kids and I stayed with you on one of our vacations. She was a special lady and always bettering herself. Will keep you all in prayers

My mother, Evelyn (Gamerl) Hassett, went to nursing school with Pat. She wrote me the kindest note when my mom passed. On behalf of the Hassett family, we send our sincere condolences for the loss of your wife, mom and grandmother. May the Lord keep her in his loving arms and peace and good memories be your comfort.
