William Francis Klugh

Bill was born in Butler, PA the youngest child of Irvin and Vivian Klugh. He grew up in Butler and graduated from Temple University. He began his career with the Federal Government in 1955 and served in the Army from 1956-1958 stationed primarily in Germany. He met and married Donna in Dayton, Ohio in 1960. In 1967 he moved the family to Vienna, VA and continued his government service in Washington, DC serving in both the General Accounting Office and later the Government Printing Office. He retired from the Federal Government in 1986.

After retiring from the government, he worked as a tax preparer and business consultant. For the last several years he operated Cedar Lane Tax in Vienna. He continued working throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife Donna, who is battling Alzheimer's disease, his children Cindi Sherwood of Pauley's Island, SC, Don Sherwood of Troy, OH, Jayleen Sherwood of Greenville, SC, William Jr. (Lora) of Gainesville, VA, and Gretchen of Vienna, VA. He is also survived by six grandsons, Jeff, Mark, Jacob, Kody, Luke, and Jason; two great-granddaughters, Eva and Vivian as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Bill was a coach for various Vienna teams over the years for both his children's and grandchildren's teams. He was an umpire for Vienna Little League and later for the Virginia High School league for many years in the 1970s and 80s. He was an avid softball player up until a few years ago competing in the Northern Virginia Senior Softball League. He continued playing golf right up until the end. He carded his first hole in one last year after more than 60 years of play.

Mostly he was about family, He was generous to a fault and always made sure to do what he could to take care of those he loved.
