Esther B. Hinchcliff, 87, a resident of McLean, Va., passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013. She was born in Philadelphia on November 15, 1925 to parents William and Esther Bertolet. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA and spent summers in Ocean City, NJ. She graduated from Marjorie Webster Junior College. She married Richard Hinchcliff in 1945 and lived in Chicago, IL and hinsdale, IL for 26 years and then moved to McLean, Va in 1971. She was an avid golfer at Congressional Country Club and a regular bridge player and eventually a dog lover. She was an active member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in McLean, Va. She traveled extensively with her husband. She is survived by her husband and three children, Richard Hinchcliff, Jr. (Angela), Brian Hinchcliff and Janet Hinchcliff; grandson, Christopher Hinchcliff; her sister, MaryJane Clemmer and her brother Bill Bertolet; numerous nieces, nephew, great friends and dogs. As she was a breast cancer survivor, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice involved in breast cancer research.
