Born in: Novato, California
Resided in: Vienna, Virginia

Michael Brendan Wilson, age 30, passed from this life on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Vienna, Virginia. Born April 10, 1994, in Novato, California, the son of Thomas and Kathleen (McCormick) Wilson.

Michael was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend who loved his family and friends in the purest way. He loved them for who they were and wished the best for them without asking anything in return. Michael would light up a room when he walked in with his cheerful and easy-going manner. He formed personal connections easily with his sense of humor and engaging conversation. From an early age Michael loved to fish and took pride in teaching his friends how to fish. He liked spending time outdoors fishing and rock-climbing, and was a life-long fan of the Washington Capitals. Michael was also intellectually curious and enjoyed exchanging ideas with others. He was an avid reader and especially liked reading and learning about history.

Michael was brave enough to face himself when he was afraid and learned compassion for others through his own challenges in life. He was humbled and astonished when others showed him great kindness and remembered their kindness. He never spoke unkindly about anyone and always treated others with a generous spirit and kindness. Michael served others in many ways and was working as a dental sterilization technician at the time of his death.

What did Michael teach us? All we can do is forgive quickly and be kind to others and ourselves; know that we are all doing the best that we can. Let us find and encourage within ourselves those gifts that make each of us special, the ineffable mystery and extraordinary beauty of the simple human heart.

Those who knew Michael lost a shining light in their lives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Dolores Wilson; James and Marie McCormick; and his aunt Cynthia Wilson. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Kathleen Wilson, brother Ryan Wilson, and many loving family members and friends.
