Dear Ernie and Dean: May God comfort you with the passing of your brother, Artie. I was blessed to know Artie while we were together in Sunday School, Boy Scout troop 69, and when we served as altar boys at St. Sophia Cathedral in 1966-67. I will always remember his smile and his contagious laughter. Please be assured that Artie is now in the presence of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Emily and Shawn, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I offer my sincere condolences and sympathy for you and your family. I know that this is an especially difficult time, in light of your upcoming nuptuals. I’m certain that your dad would want you to carry on with your plans and honor him by the two of you marrying and having an enjoyable honeymoon. I’m sure that he was very proud of the two of you and will be looking down on you on your special day. All my love, Suzy

I am saddened to hear about Artie’s death. I remember he and his brother as classmates a long time ago. He was a bright, funny guy who liked everyone. I am truly sorry for your loss.
Artie was an incredible guy; vibrant, spirited, and incredibly full of life. His was the kind of personality that could fill a room. And he had a kind of warmth about him that could fill your heart. I didn’t know him for very long. But the short time that I did, the few meals that we shared, will be long remembered for the exceptional character that he brought to everything and everyone he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May the memory of such good and decent guy sustain you through your sorrow. And I pray that you take the flame that was his spirit and light many more flames in your future.
Kim CJ and Alex I was so sorry to learn about Artie’s passing. He was always ready with a wisecrack or joke no matter the circumstances. It was inspiring that his sense of humor stayed with him as things got tougher and tougher for him. I hope that you all will take some solace in the certain knowledge that the grief and sense of loss which are so overwhelming now will be replaced–in time–with loving memories of the good times had, and of a life well-lived. My sincerest condolences, Peyton Mahaffey

To the Trakas family. I’m truly sorry for your loss. The world has a great big empty spot in it now. Even though I haven’t seen Artie in years, he lit up countless lives when I knew him growing up in Glover Park. When you looked up the word “COOL” in the dictionary, there was a picture of Artie Trakas next to it. He was bigger than life and I have only the fondest memories of him & Dean & Ernie, as well as their mother & father. You have my sincerest condolences. My mom just passed and as hard as life seems right now, it’ll surely get better because the wonderful memories of Artie will brighten your days. God bless you all.
I enjoyed all my times both personally and professionally with Artie. He was a class act. He was a classic. He will be missed. My best during this time of sorrow. Skip Liesegang
