I knew Carol when we both volunteered at the National Zoo’s Think Tank exhibit. Carol was a dedicated wildlife enthusiast who also volunteered at the Great Ape House and monitored golden lion tamarins. Carol was mentioned in a Deseret News article about the National Zoo. Carol easily engaged visitors to the zoo and was an inspiration to the other volunteers. Carol Cofey was a lovely lady who will be missed by many. My condolences to her family and friends as we remember this woman of great heart.
Carol was our neighbor for many years. We bonded over our mutual love of cats and other animals. She always took an active part in the management of the neighborhood, being an active board member for decades. She brought many people together for ice cream socials, and shared the memories of her trips to exotic places. She is greatly missed already.
