Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our deepest sympathy for the families loss. Norbert was a very smart and caring man to so many. We are blessed he was in our lives. Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

  2. So very sorry to hear about Snip’s passing. He was a wonderful, hard working man who cherished his family. I will always fondly remember the memories shared in the Schnippel house! Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and will always have a special part of my heart.

  3. Col Schnippel was an exemplary Marine officer who wisely counseled young officers and civilians at Head Quarters Marine Corps. He was patient and humorous, enjoyed life to the fullest, and never took himself too seriously. He really liked working with people and achieved success.

    • Capt. Warme, I was happy to see your comment.

He counseled me too. I was a Private 1st Class through Lance Corporal at Headquarters, Marine Corps from 1976 through 1979, at least prior to Col. Schnippel’s retirement, working as an administrative clerk in the offices of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Research, Development and Studies, who at the time was Maj. Gen. William Fitch. I was there, sitting in the back, at his retirement.

Col. Schnippel was the kind of fellow I never wanted to let down. He was so down to earth and such a good guy, as were you.

And, boy, did he have some stories.

I hope you’re doing well. Semper fi.

  4. Sandi, Tony, Gabby and Family. Anne and I were so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Meeting him, having a drink with him, and hearing his stories. He was quite a man. Our hearts are with you today. With Sympathy and Love Marlin and Anne
