Constance "Connie" Louise Pence

Constance “Connie” Louise Pence of Vienna, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 93. Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Robert Newton Pence and son Michael Pence (Amy) both of Vienna, Va. Connie was grandmother to Charles Raymond Pence and Benjamin Robert Pence (Lindsey). Connie became a great-grandmother to Theodore Michael Sparrock Pence in November 2024. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Shank. Connie is preceded in death by her son Mark Raymond Pence, her brother, Robert Shank (Virginia) and her parents Marie and Raymond Shank.

Connie was born on March 26, 1932 in Keyser, West Virginia. She graduated from Keyser High School in 1950. Connie attended Potomac State College and graduated from Shepherd College in 1954 with a degree in teaching.

Connie married Robert in 1953 in Keyser, WV. They welcomed Mark in 1960 and Michael in 1965. Connie taught at McLean and Langley High School until she retired in 1988. After retirement, Connie and Bob spent winters in Bradenton, Florida. Connie was active in Wesley United Methodist Church volunteering with UMW and singing in the church choir for over 53 years. She enjoyed singing, exercising and traveling. Connie is remembered for her sense of humor, her fierce loyalty and her devotion to her family.
