Elizabeth Hilda Breeden, former high school teacher in West Virginia and Missouri, died on July 5, 2011 at her home in McLean, VA of complications from Huntington's Disease. She was 87.

Mrs. Breeden was born on her family's farm near Kuttawa, KY on September 3, 1923. She attended a one-room school and graduated from Kuttawa High School, enrolling in West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Business Education in 1944.

She began her teaching career at Oak Hill High School in Fayette County, WV and later taught at Sturgeon, Centralia and Hickman High Schools in Missouri when her husband attended the University of Missouri. She retired in 1955 when the family moved to the Washington, DC area.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert; a daughter, Cynthia Scudder of Sherwood Forest, MD; two granddaughters, Catherine Scudder of Sherwood Forest and Andrea Scudder of Greenville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA), 505 8th Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.

Such a nice person and I know she will be missed by everyone.
