Ferne Harding Childs

On Friday, April 7, 2017, Ferne Harding Childs passed away peacefully at home after her battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Tom; her two daughters, Julie Isaacson (Jon), of Hummelstown, PA and Susanne Priftis (Andrew), of Ashburn, VA; four grandchildren: Sam, Henry, Abbey, and Haley, and countless others who knew and loved her. Born in Baltimore, MD, Ferne attended the University of Maryland where she was a member of the Mortar Board Society and had a long career in Real Estate. In retirement, Ferne enjoyed playing tennis and golf, plus traveling and spending time with family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Ferne's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Monday April 17 at 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA on Tuesday, April 18 at 2p.m. Family burial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Life with Cancer 8411 Pennell Street, Fairfax, VA 22031 or INOVA Heart and Vascular Center 8110 Gatehouse Road Suite 200 East, Falls Church, VA 22042.
