New York, New York
Resided in:
Vienna, Virginia
After a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, Frances Morton Weyrauch, aged 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday July 27, 2024, in McLean, Virginia. She was born on Wednesday September 15, 1948, in Manhattan, New York, to Edwin “Ed” Morton and Catherine “Kay” Morton. She was a proud resident of Vienna, Virginia and enjoyed living in Northern Virginia for 50 years. She married Theodore “Ted” Weyrauch on Saturday September 28, 1974, in Lynnfield, Massachusetts and raised two loving children, Christen and Richard.
Frances moved with her family as a young girl from Manhattan, New York to Lynnfield, Massachusetts where she stayed there until 1974. After graduating from Lynnfield High School, she attended Marian Court Secretarial School (Swampscott, Massachusetts) for 2 years, followed by a six-week Finishing School. Shortly after, she took a position at the Mitre Corporation (Bedford, Massachusetts) where she worked as an Executive Secretary. It was while working there, via a mutual friend, that Frances was introduced to Ted. Ted took her to a Bachelor Officer’s Dance (US Air Force) at Hanscom Field (Bedford, Massachusetts) and their romance bloomed from there. It was via hundreds of letters back and forth to one another that their relationship deepened. On Saturday August 11, 1973, Ted asked Frances to marry him. She made her response very clear, saying “Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!”
Once married, Frances moved down to join Ted who had relocated to Virginia a few months earlier. They lived together in Reston, Virginia from 1974 to 1976, before moving to their home of 48 years in Vienna, Virginia in June 1976. Soon after they welcomed their two children. Frances was very private, enjoying time spent with her family. Her passions were Jesus, quilting, and other crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ted Weyrauch; their two children Christen Kellett (Thomas Kellett), Richard Weyrauch (Lori Weyrauch) and their two children Emma Weyrauch and Lily Weyrauch, as well as her four younger siblings, Jeff Morton, Eileen Thompson (Clarke Thompson), Richard “Rick” Morton, and Sandra Morton, in addition to several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family, friends, and others are invited to a Memorial Service at Church of the Apostles located at 11717 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA, 22030,
starting at 10am on Saturday August 17, 2024.

Hi, Jeff. Thank you so much for your entry in Frances’ guestbook. I miss you, man!
Say, are you still on Summer Street in Amesbury? If so, may I send you a USB flash drive with a few videos of Frances on it? Just to share some memories with you. Send me an e-mail message (tweyrauch@sprynet.com), or call or text me at 703-389-3849. I’d love to hear from you!
With love and happy memories of our times together,
– Ted
The memory that stands out for me is being a flower girl when you and Ted were married, 49 years ago! Though we may not have had many opportunities to connect in recent years, you have always been in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. Rest in peace. You will be greatly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

I had the opportunity to meet Francis at the Weyrauch family reunion in Rockford Illinois 1990 and was impressed by her kind and empathic personality. I will always remember her lovable attitude to everyone.
Rest in peace Francis !
Mrs. Weyrauch has been the most amazing friend (who is like family to us) and neighbor to us for the past 30+ years. We are deeply saddened to hear of her passing. Her kindness, generosity and love for us will never be forgotten. She will live in hearts and minds forever. With love, the Malik’s.
