Helen Blake died on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Leewood Healthcare Center, Annandale, Virginia. She is survived by her sister, Lucille Berry of Woodstock, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Gone before her are siblings, Arline VanPatten, Ruby Brown, Doris Herring, Vernon Herring, Virgil Herring and Donald Herring. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Andrew Chapel United Methodist Churches' Memory Cafe or Building Fund.

We were glad to have the opportunity to meet some of Helen’s family yesterday after the funeral. Helen was always so cheerful, full of life, and full of joy. She loved butterflies and I frequently shared my butterfly photographs with her. She was a wonderful servant in so many ways at Andrew Chapel. We have missed her since she moved, and will miss her more now. Our prayers are with you at this time of loss.
Family and friends, I know that this is a very difficult time. It’s never easy to lose someone you love but the Bible promises us at John 5:28,29 that you will see Helen again. Until then may your hearts be filled with the wonderful memories of joyful times spent together as you celebrate a life well lived. Please accept my condolences.
