June Carolyn Mackey Seager Franko born June 10,1934 in Painesville, Ohio to William and Aileen (Sivula) Mackey, died peacefully May 4th, 2025, in Springfield, Virginia.
June graduated from Harvey High School in 1952 and attended Kent State University where she majored in Broadcasting & Journalism. There, she met and married Herbert Seager in 1955 and had 3 children. They moved to the DC area in the early 60’s and eventually settled in Rockville, Maryland, where they raised their children. June was very active in the local PTA for many years, becoming President. When the kids were older, she began a career with Avon, working her way up to District Manager. She then became a Designer for the Ethan Allen store in Olney, Maryland, again working her way up to the corporate level for many years and moving to Roanoke, Virginia, La Plata & Severna Park, Maryland. She divorced, moved back to Mentor, Ohio & married her high school sweetheart, Joe Franko in 1991. They eventually moved to Lewes, Delaware to be closer to the beach. After Joe passed away in 2010, June eventually moved to Springfield, Virginia, where she has lived the past 10 years. June enjoyed watching baseball, spending time with family and doting on her feline companions.
She is survived by her daughter Sue Seager (Michele) and son Dave Seager (Kris), her grandchildren Jenna Weeks (Lamar), Jason Lewis, Samantha Seager (Stefan) and Jessica Seager, her great grandchildren Jameson & Elle Weeks. She was predeceased by Herbert Seager & Joe Franko, daughter Laura Seager and grandson Jonathan Seager.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday June 28th, 2025, at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia.
