Lois Norene Crumb passed away on May 30, 2016 at the Virginian in Fairfax, Virginia, at the age of 92. She was born to Neal and Vena Borgart in Decatur County, Kansas, on December 9, 1923.

Lois grew up on the family farm and graduated from Decatur County High School in June, 1941. Upon graduation she moved to Denver, Colorado, and attended secretarial school. In 1942 she took a job in Washington, DC, becoming one of the "Government Girls" who came from farms and small towns across America to aid in the war effort. On September 11, 1943, she married Lt. Bob Nastre in Aniston, Alabama. For the next 20 years, Lois and Bob traveled throughout the United States, being assigned to several Chemical Corps posts. Lois was actively involved in the Officer's Wives Club at each installation, serving in several roles, including president. Bob died while on active duty at Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland on October 5, 1964. On November 11, 1969, Lois married Edgar A. Crumb at the post chapel at Edgewood Arsenal. Being avid golfers, Lois and Ed moved to Stuart, Florida in 1982, where they built a home on a golf course. Ed passed away on August 10, 1993 and seven yeas later Lois relocated to Heritage Hunt in Gainesville, Virginia, to be closer to her daughter and family. While living there, Lois was a member of the Gainesville United Methodist Church.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Bode and her husband Kenneth, and by her grandson, Robert Bode of Alexandria, Virginia.

A private graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
