Louise Marie Gaver

louise gaver
Louise Marie Gaver, affectionately known as Nana, was born March 12, 1939 and passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2017. Born at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C. to Antoinette and Thomas Ellsworth Breslin, she grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and attended St. Mary's Catholic School, GW High School, and GW University before starting work for the Central Intelligence Agency. She married Troy Stanley Mace in 1961, moved with her young family to Reston, Virginia in 1965 and was one of the first residents of that first planned community. She remarried in 1974 to Pierce Horatio Gaver. Ms. Gaver had a long career in computer and software sales, mostly to the Federal Government. She was a talented gardener who loved spending the day working in her yard. With the births of her grandchildren, Nana found that her new favorite activity was spending time with them. She is survived by her two children and their families: Hayley Mace Ticer, married to John Tennesson Ticer, and Stephen Reinhold Mace, married to Jennifer Jordan Mace; grandchildren, Park Thomas Ticer, Zachary Mace Ticer, and Riggen Michael Mace. She will be missed by her K-9 friend Stubby. There will be a private celebration of Louise's life on Wednesday, March 15.

  1. I noticed the name Pierce Gaver as that of a son of my Mother’s friend in Frederick, MD. Pauline Johnson Keegan graduated in 1927 from Frederick High School. One of the Gaver sons graduated from West Point. I did not know Louise, may she Rest in Peace.
