Lucy Mead Scheer, age 84, of Vienna, VA died on September 23, 2015. Beloved mother of Lucinda Scheer, Susan Wratschko (Robert), Christopher Scheer (Marina Lopez), Eric Scheer (Julie Nelson), Jessica Koenig (John), and David Scheer; grandmother of Matthew, Jennifer, Nyssa, Lucas, Thomas, John, Sarah, Amelia, and Benjamin; and great-grandmother of Jaxon, Christopher, and Calvin. She is also survived by her beloved friends, Stella and Roxy. Funeral services will be held at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA, on Monday, September 28 at 11 a.m. Interment Flint Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, www.bestfriends.org.

Lucy and I shared lots of good times, especially at the knitting conventions we loved to go to, and most memorably, our fabulous trip to Scotland in l990. She was a special person. Sorry to hear of Lucy’s passing. I want you to know that I share your grief. I enjoyed seeing her at the Mead family celebrations. One most memorable was the Thanksgiving in Greenwich when it snowed. A first for her.
