Lynn Ilene Foster Kuchenbrod, 52, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 7, 2024, at her home in Centreville, Virginia.

Lynn was born on November 10, 1971, in Johnson City, New York, to Joan (Folmsbee) and Richard Foster, along with her twin sister. In 1980, her family relocated to what was the small town of Round Rock, Texas, where she graduated from Round Rock High School. Lynn attended University of Texas at San Antonio before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from The University of Texas at Austin in 1995. She later moved to Lexington, Kentucky, to pursue further studies in Nutrition at the University of Kentucky. However, her interests shifted towards Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

At the Newman Center Catholic Church, Lynn met her future husband, John Kuchenbrod. The couple married at the Newman Center in 1997 and enjoyed 27 years together in holy matrimony. In 1999, Lynn earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from the University of Kentucky, and the pair began their careers in Abingdon, Virginia. In 2001, they relocated to Northern Virginia, where Lynn worked at the former Fairfax Medical Laboratories and later as a Laboratory Technician at Oakton-Vienna Veterinary Hospital.

Lynn and John welcomed their son, Matthias Kuchenbrod, in 2006. While enjoying motherhood, Lynn remained involved in various religious organizations, cared for their indoor cats, and appreciated wildlife, especially when they interacted through the windows with the cats.

Lynn is survived by her devoted husband, loving parents, and beloved son; her older sister, Jamie (Jack) Hardeman; her twin sister, Laura (Don) Baggett; her older brother, Todd Foster; uncle, Robert Foster; aunt, Robin (Richard) Perilli; sister-in-law, Karen (Tony) Popplewell; brothers-in-law, Jim (Linda) Kuchenbrod and Mike (Christi) Kuchenbrod; parents-in-law, Margaret “Peg” and Arnold “Butch” Kuchenbrod; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, two great nieces, and several step-great and step-great-great nieces and nephews. Lynn was predeceased by her aunt, Carole Foster, and her mother’s twin sister, Jane Clark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at noon at St. Mark Catholic Church, located at 9970 Vale Road, Vienna, Virginia, with inurnment in the St. Mark Memorial Garden immediately following the Mass. Friends and family are invited to visitation before the Mass from 11 AM to noon in the St. Mark narthex.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to the Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue Team, PO Box 182, Herndon, VA 20172-0182; Holy Spirit Parish Newman Center, 320 Rose Lane, Lexington, KY 40508; or the capital improvement fund at St. Mark Catholic Church.
