Rabab Deeb Sayegh

August 17, 1943 ~ June 17, 2010
Departed in peace into the hands of our Lord, Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 17, 2010 in Fairfax, Va. Her death was unexpected, however, she fell asleep in the Lord after spending a month-long vacation with her family in the US. Rabab of Beirut, Lebanon is survived by her husband, George Sayegh, mother, Nadia Rania Awwad, Lama, wife of Karim Najjar and Rami; along with seven grandchildren that she adored, Salim, Nadim, George, Mark, Sofia, Christine and Isabel. Also survived by her siblings, Drs. Al and Mary Deeb, Samir and Tony Deeb and Rima Deeb Granado. Rabab lived a full life and was always her caring self, never complaing, always taking care of others and working in silence to help the less fortunate. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are appreciated to the American Foundation for Saint George Hospital, www.stgeorgefoundation.org. We will miss a dear mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. May her memory be eternal amongst the saints.

Tante Rabab was my second mom! May God bless her soul! I will never forget you! You are an angel.
Dear George, Mary, Mrs. Nadia Deeb and all the members of the family, We are so sad to hear about the great loss of Rabab. We present our heartfelt condolences and wish all of you courage, patience and good health.
Dear George, Emile, Lama, Rami and Mary You should be proud of Rabab, for she has touched the lives of many. I will always remember her as a bundle of joy and happiness, as a loving colleague and a true peacemaker. Your loss is ours too – and until we meet her again in the confines of eternity, remember Gebran Khalil Gebran’s reflection on death “And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?” Memory eternal!
