Reginald Maurice Roberts

September 7, 1948 ~ April 17, 2025
Reginald Maurice Roberts, affectionately known as “Reggie,” of Vienna, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1948, in Washington, D.C., to devoted parents Reginald and Martha Roberts. The eldest of six siblings, Reggie grew up surrounded by love in Franconia, Virginia.
Reggie was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business, Class of 1971, where he also forged lifelong friendships as a member of the Sigma Lambda fraternity. It was in Blacksburg that he met the love of his life, Rhonda Lynn Cromer.
Following graduation, Reggie began his career in the beer and wine industry as a salesman in Richmond, Virginia. His passion and entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Select Wines, Inc. in 1986, where he served as President until his passing. Known for his integrity, sharp business acumen, and unwavering work ethic, Reggie built a respected and thriving business.
In 1973, Reggie married Rhonda, his wife and partner of 51 years. Together, they raised two children, Lane and Nathan, in Vienna, where Reggie was deeply involved in the community. He served as President of the Vienna Elementary PTA and coached many local youth through Vienna Youth Soccer and Basketball programs, becoming a mentor and positive influence to countless children.
Outside of work and community, Reggie found joy in fishing, spending time with his family, and making memories at his beloved Fenwick Island beach home. His greatest pride were his five grandchildren. He also looked forward to trips to Blacksburg to attend Virginia Tech Hokies football games with extended family as well as frequent reunions with college friends all over the country.
Reggie was preceded in death by his parents Reginald and Martha, as well as brother Mark Roberts (Christy). He survived by his loving wife, Rhonda; his daughter, Lane Miller, and son-in-law, Joseph; his son, Nathan Roberts, and daughter-in-law, Ashleigh; and his beloved grandchildren: Liam, Grace, Perry, Hayes, and Tanner. He is also survived by his siblings: Glenn Roberts (Judy), Kevin Roberts (Noella), Martha Tisdale (Douglas), and Karen Wallenburg (Roni Salazar); as well as his siblings-in-law: Wayne Cromer, Beverly Cromer and Debbie Williams. Reggie leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Reggie was the exception to the norm. One in a million. He will be missed by all who knew him. Warmest regards to his entire family.
