William M. Jones

William "Bill" Jones died on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Sunrise of Hunter Mill surrounded by his family. He was born in North Chelmsford, MA to William and Emilene Armitage Jones on July 8, 1924. He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Eaton. He joined the Navy when he was 17 and saw the world!
He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, of 65 years. His daughters, Terri Fairbanks (Guy) of Centreville, VA and Karen Pauley (Ray), of Richmond, VA who loved him very much. He had 5 grandchildren, Brad Fairbanks (Shannon), Lauren BeCraft (Jonathan), Jonathan Fairbanks, Kelli Perkins (Matthew), Ben Fairbanks. He had 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Bill spent 27 years in the US Navy and was a true Patriot. He is a veteran of WWI, survived the bombing of the USS Savannah and was involved in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor.
Bill was a resident of Vienna, VA for 54 years where he was actively involved in coaching the girls softball league. He enjoyed sports of all types and especially loved the Boston Red Sox.
Visitation will be Monday April 17 at 10 a.m. at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a contribution in his name to Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. VVFD Auxiliary P.O Box 1676, Vienna, VA 22183.
