Chester Myslicki
October 6, 1920 ~ May 27, 2021
Chester Myslicki, 100, of Tyson’s Corner, VA passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday May 27 at his home. He was born October 6,1920, along with his twin brother Zigmund, in Flint MI to Bronislav and Mary Magdalena Myslicki. There is the Polish Birthday Song "Sto Lat" that means "May you live 100 years... “. Chester was able to fulfill that birthday wish last October.
Chester served in the US Army Signal Corp during WWII and later in occupied Japan. He had earned his undergraduate degree prior to his military service from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and when he returned home, he earned a Master’s Degree in Economics from the same institution. After graduation, he found work, sequentially, as an economist at the US Commerce Department, the Department of Labor, and the President’s Council of Economic Advisors. In later years, Chester was sent overseas to Iran and Afghanistan with the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. After his retirement, he served as a paralegal working on issues related to retirement and seniors. Chester capped his career by the founding of the Northern Virginia Mediation Service, a nonprofit providing affordable conflict resolution and education services to local communities.
Physically fit well up into his 90s, Chester was a repeat champion in freestyle and backstroke at the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics and often medaled in the breaststroke. He traveled the world with Earthwatch and Elder Hostel visiting every continent. He loved the beach and spent many happy weeks there with the O’Connells and Rays.
Chester is survived by his two nephews, Stefan Myslicki of Los Gatos, CA and Larry Myslicki of Grand Blanc, MI, his goddaughter Catherine Ray Fenollosa, as well as his niece Andrea Myslicki of Tyson’s Corner, VA.
In addition to his parents, Chester was predeceased by his best friends Russel O’Connell and Fred Ray, his brother Leopold, his sister Bronia and his twin brother Zigmund. He also lost his favorite nephew, Keith Myslicki, a few years ago

Chester was a mainstay of OLLI Readers theatre. With his humor and his costumes he shone in every performance. He was a joy to have in class and with us when the Loudoun RT went out for lunch. Even with Rosa at his side he memorized and performed well into his nineties. I will remember him with lots of love. Kathie West
