  1. Dee placed a wreath on my office door and a battery operated Christmas tree on the table in my office just before the Holidays. She was always thoughtful and cared deeply about others. We all grew close at the US Army Center of Military History. She will be gravely missed. — Rev. JB Busby Sr.

  2. The very first thing Dee ever said to me was, “Do you have a registry”? This was her first week at CMH and the first time I had saw her. I was 9 months pregnant. I introduced myself to Dee and gave her my registry info. Before parting ways, she said, “Girl that baby is coming”…that was Friday, my son was born Sunday. 3 months later, on my first day back from maternity leave, she was the first person I saw…an early bird like me. During that short convo we learned we were both leo’s – bdays 6 days apart and instantly became friends. Longer morning talks and weekly Nandos chicken became our ritual. Dee was extremely thoughtful, vibrant and super funny. I missed her when she left CMH and now I miss her even more. The world needs more Dee’s. Mr. Lewis this is a tough loss, you will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. – Pilar Lightfoot

  3. Dee you will truly be missed. You were a joy to work with and tell funny stories. May God continue to Bless and Rest your Soul. Cherrie

  4. Dee you have contributed so much to this organization as well as to individuals. I miss our early morning conversations and afternoon laughs. Rest in peace.

  5. Condolences to the family. Dee we never formally met but you were a huge influence in my life and career. You thought me a lot. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace!!!
