Edgar Edward Gregeris

Edgar Edward Gregeris, also known as Ed or Poppop, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, May 21st, 2023. Ed was born on May 27th, 1943, in Kaunas, Lithuania, to Luidas and Rosalia Gregeris. He spent his early life moving due to the Russian occupation of Lithuania. Once settling permanently in the U.S., Ed received a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Mathematics and Electrical Engineering at Southern Illinois University, where he met his future wife, Jeramae Clark. They were married on July 29th, 1967. In 1965 he joined the Navy as an officer and rose to Lt. Commander, serving three tours during the Vietnam War on the USS Enterprise. He then went on to receive a M.S. in Computer Systems Management at the Naval Postgraduate school and continued to serve our country as the Assistant Head of Computer Operations for the Naval command systems. He retired from the Navy in 1974 and pursued a career in computer system operations as well as focused on his already growing family. Ed was an adventurer as he enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies including scuba diving, skiing, hiking, rollerblading, and reading. Not only did he enjoy these things, but he loved to share these hobbies with his 5 children and later 5 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and in our hearts always. Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeramae, his children Kristina Stites (Greg), Ryan Gregeris, Michael Gregeris (Margaret), Jaclyn Gregeris, Eric Gregeris (Jennifer), and 5 grandchildren Emily, Carlin, Johnathon, Mykolas, and Maya. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Money and King funeral home in Vienna, VA. Ed’s ashes will be placed at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
