Edward John Nachazel, 96, of Southern Shores, North Carolina, (formerly of Reston, Virginia) passed away on May 14, 2023, due to natural causes.
Ed was born on March 2, 1927 to Edward and Jennie Nachazel in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. After graduating from high school in East Jordan, Michigan, Ed went on to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and then earned an M.B.A. from Wayne State University.
Ed began his career as an engineer in Detroit, Michigan, later re-locating to Atlanta, Georgia. He transitioned to a successful career in commercial real estate in Reston, Virginia, establishing his own real estate investment firm in 1974.
Ed was fortunate to meet Shirley Babel in East Jordan, Michigan, whom he wed, going on to have 4 children (Tim, Tom, Teri, and Tina). Yes, all T’s.
After retiring in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Ed spent his time on his favorite hobbies including golf, playing and recording music on his guitar, wine tasting, and reading.
Ed is survived by his son Tim (Sara); daughters Teri and Tina, grandchildren Emily (Colin) and Mark (Arielle) and great grandchildren Flynn and Ava.
A service will be performed on Sunday, June 25th, 2:00 pm, at Vale United Methodist Community Church, 11528 Vale Rd, Oakton, VA 22124. Please RSVP to Teri Nachazel at terinachos@gmail.com if interested in attending
