Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Never in my life have I known a finer more honorable man. His smile and laugh are my fondest memories. I’m sure Tom is very happy to be with him again.

  2. Terry and Rachel, so sorry to hear this news. I always enjoyed his smile and welcoming manner. He led a good long life! Condolences and best wishes to you both, Ann Fragale

  3. I was heartbroken to hear that Mr. May had passed and I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed.

  4. Friends, my sincere condolences first and foremost. I did not know Mr. May, but wondering if he is related to the Ernest N. May of Wilmington, DE who was the first owner of the schooner CARIBEE, built in Ipswich, Mass by W.A. Robinson, to a design by Howard Irving Chapelle. I am busy at a biography of Chapelle, whom I knew in the last few years of his life (1970-1975). Part of my research is to locate a copy of Chapelle’s design and construction drawings. On occasion a copy at least, is presented to the first owner of a vessel. CARIBEE was launched in 1940. Appeared in the 1965 film A HIGH WIND IN JAMAICA, and sank sometime in the 1970s or early 1980s. Please consider contacting me, even if I have the “wrong” Ernest N. May.
