It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandiddy, Brother, Nephew, and friend Harry James Barnes. Harry was 76 years old and lived the fullest life anyone could hope for. Born on July 8, 1945 in Portsmouth, VA to Harry and Esther (Mom Mom) Barnes, he had a younger brother and sister, Phil Barnes and Dee Acors. He attended Churchland High School (go truckers) as well as Old Dominion College. Harry then served in the Army which required relocating to Northern Virginia. After completing his Army service, he received his bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and began his management career at Woodward & Lothrop. While married to Marcella Barnes, he had two children—Wesley Barnes (married to Amber) and Shelley Landon (married to Nathan). Harry is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Madelyn, Zachary, Giselle, Camden, Georgie, and Charlie.

Harry lived his live to the fullest through love, laughter, and music. He had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. We love you Dad, Grandiddy, Uncle Harry, and Harry.
