Henry "Harry" George Ulrich

Henry “Harry” George Ulrich IV AKA Hesh was a passionate, loving, and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2021 at the tender age of 44.

Harry was born to Henry G. Ulrich III and Mary Ulrich on April 12, 1977 in Naples, Italy. After graduating from Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, Va, he chased his dreams by playing soccer and obtaining his undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Soon after graduating, Harry paid his love for the game of soccer forward by coaching, while completing his master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Not only did he walk away with a degree, he learned how to be a die-hard Steelers fan and gave loyalty to the terrible towel. Harry studied and pursued a passion for information technology where he eventually began his own business. During his time in Pittsburgh is where he met the love of his life and eventually his wife, Stacy Riley Ulrich. Harry and Stacy enjoyed bringing laughter and love into the world. Together, they were loving parents to three beautiful children: Riley, Eben, and Liam.

Harry loved spending time watching his own children play soccer and you could find him on the soccer fields most weekends. When he wasn’t watching his own children on the field, he never missed his hometown FC Napoli on TV. Harry enjoyed family game nights, weekend adventures with the kids, and traveling the world. He loved to see the joy on his kids' faces as they encountered new experiences. Harry never passed up an opportunity to brag about Riley, Eben, and Liam. He was very proud of all three of his children. Harry also enjoyed time with his family and friends on the golf course or sharing laughs while grilling a good steak. His laughter and non-stop banter and sarcasm could always be heard and will never be forgotten.

Harry is survived by his father and mother Harry and Mary Ulrich; his wife Stacy Ulrich; his daughter Riley Ulrich (16); his two sons Eben (13) and Liam Ulrich (12); his Italian Mastiff Kurtz; his grandcat Kini; his two sisters Megan McKinney and Alexandra McGourty-Page; nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends. His tireless love and devotion to his family and friends were evident throughout his entire life and in his final moments.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a Celebration of Life is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, should friends a family desire, a Go Fund Me page has been established on behalf of The Ulrich Family https://gofund.me/0b3fbf01.

  2. My enduring memory is of Harry doing what he loved on a soccer field during one of our middle school field days at Parkside. I always remembered the way he loved soccer and he was one of the few people that I graduated from OPHS with who had attended Parkside also. He seemed to be a happy, good natured, even keeled dude. Condolences and prayers to his family and friends, I am sorry for your loss.

  3. I have a vivid memory of Harry doing what he did best. Use humor to drive home a point. I think he had gotten some new computer that Mike could help him with. I think Sr. was out of town. So that meant it was myself my dad and Harry hold up in a computer room while the ladies did what ladies do while visiting each other. It’s a still a mystery to me as I typically do what we did and “fix” stuff. Jk. I didn’t have an older brother but Harry was the closest thing to one for a while when I was in my formative years. He would always give it to me straight, even if I didn’t want to hear, but needed to. I took his advice as truth, as a brother, and glad I did. In this instance, I am sure I was being annoying while they tried to figure something out. Harry said to me”you know, you don’t have to say EVERYTHING that comes to your mind” I really hated that in the moment, but the older I get the more I reflect on that point in time. And let me tell you it’s come in handy when I got married! I will always remember the “big brother” moves he made and am thankful to have had the time I did with him. I was fortunate to know him when I did, he was like a hilarious rock star to me. I used to see his car parked at my house after school and get so so excited he was over. I knew he would have some hilarious burn for me to take back to elementary school. I think about how many other people have been impacted positively by Harry and know you had to of loved every moment of it. Thank you Harry, I will never forget the positive influence you made one me and I love you all.

  4. Admiral and Mary – so sorry to learn of your son’s passing. Mary Anne and I send our heartfelt condolences and prayers to you. Only parents who have lost children can really understand the emotions and heartache you have felt since that day.
