Passed away Wedneday, August 31, 2022 in Falls Church, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vincent Scinta; her parents, Louis and Savoia Varrone; her brothers, James (Evelyn) and Dominic (Charlotte); her sisters, Virginia (David), Carmela (Frank), Mary (Harwood), Emilia (Manual), Eleanor (Rudy), Philomena and her son, Vincent.
She is survived by her daughters Gina, Annette, son Joseph and granddaughters Ariane, Sean and Sophie. Relatives and friends may call at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna VA on Wednesday September 7, 2022 from 3pm until 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the following morning at 11am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd. SE, Vienna VA. Interment at Columbia Gardens, 3411 Arlington Blvd., Arlington VA at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Josephine’s memory to Sacred Heart Southern Missions

I met Josephine through my work. I happened to be part of her healthcare team in her last few months. She was an absolute gem and a pleasure to be around. She introduced me to the joys of America’s favorite past time, Baseball and made me root for the Nationals. In the short time I spent with her, her live for her family shone through as well as baseball. I am heartbroken at her passing and I hope that her family is consoled by their fond memories of mom. She truly was one of a kind.

When I reflect on the time I had with my grandma I think of so many memories, most of them revolve around food and holidays and those memories will be with me forever.
From as long as I can remember she was always there, ready to feed you as soon as you walked in the door. Offering anything and everything in her fridge or pantry. Her candy jars always filled, perfect for rummaging through. And her stash of chocolate chips in the basement I’d always sneak down to grab a handful.
When she wasn’t feeding you she was teaching you to play cards, working on a puzzle or in the garden or watching her shows in her chair. I especially loved helping her decorate the massive Christmas tree in her front yard.
She will forever be with me through her chocolate chip cookies and 7 layer bars, her love for crafting and cooking. I will miss her deeply but know she is in heaven with the best company, all looking over us.
