Keith Westmoreland Dozier, age 47, died on August 29, 2019, at his home in Vienna, Virginia. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, on November 16, 1971, he was the son of Rosalyn and Lewis Dozier of Vienna, Virginia.

Keith is also survived by his sister, Robyn Dozier, and his uncles Robert Dozier (Linda), Louis Skelton, and Charles Skelton (Jackie). In addition, he is survived by his stepmother, JoAnn Stewart, his stepsister Michele Anderson, and his stepbrother Greg Flynn.

In his younger years, Keith participated in Vienna community sports programs, including football, baseball, and soccer. Later, his interest in music led to his winning a talent show in high school, performing original songs on his beloved bass guitar. For some years he played with local bands in various venues.

Meanwhile, Keith graduated from James Madison High School in Vienna in 1990, and then completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing management at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Being in “canyon country” gave him the opportunity to pursue his love of the outdoors. He greatly enjoyed skiing, rock climbing, hiking, and even skydiving! He found that the surrounding Native American culture offered a new perspective on spirituality.

Keith was known for his sense of humor, and his caring for others.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, September 6, from 6 to 8 pm at Vienna Baptist Church, 541 Marshall Road SW, Vienna, VA 22180. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7 at 11 am at Vienna Baptist Church, with a reception to follow. In Keith’s memory flowers may be sent to the church

Guestbook

  1. Keith was my roommate at ASU and my neighbor in Flagstaff. He was an amazing guy and a great friend. I am so sorry to read this. I just know he is looking down on all of us laughing at a joke that only he can appreciate!!! See you on the other side brother!! Chris “Rizzo” Rispoli

  2. Keith and I had been friends since elementary school. He was among the nicest people I’ve ever met. I have nothing but fond memories of him. Though we haven’t seen each other in 27 years, it’s with profound grief that I now read of his passing. Rest in peace, my friend. Chris Austin
