  1. I have only recently gotten to know Lee Emery and would certainly call him a friend. We have had several but not nearly enough deep conversations about things in which we both had an interest. I am deeply saddened at his passing long before I had nearly enough time to really get to know him but I will remember him from this point forward. He was taken way too soon and could have contributed a great deal more to the world had even able to be here longer. I will miss chatting with you my friend May you rest in peace in God’s hands and heaven.

    • My heart sank as I learned today of Lee’s passing and I’m still numb at the news – can’t believe it. Lee was CEO for 11+ years at the organization for which we worked – I worked under him as Executive Director. He sought my feedback many times and was always receptive to my ideas and input. From him, we learned how to truly be servant leaders everywhere we went. I spoke with him back in May and he never told me he was ill – his passing has left me stunned. Like many, I will miss talking with him but I know he is surely now regularly in deep conversations with the Man above. Rest in peace dear friend and servant leader. -Sandra Contreras
