Maliheh Moshaveghzadeh

maliheh moshaveghzadeh
Maliheh Moshaveghzadeh passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021. She was born on November 12, 1939 in Tehran, Iran, the second of three children to parents Abbas Moshaveghzadeh and Batool Khoshraveshan. Maliheh graduated from the University of Tehran with a degree in Education and spent thirty years as an educator retiring after serving as Principal in an all-girls’ high school in Tehran. She had one daughter, Shahrzad, who in 1983 came to the United States to pursue higher education. Maliheh visited her several times, and eventually settled in Vienna, VA when Shahrzad married Ebi Soroush and they became parents to twins, Parsa and Sebastien and later to their daughter Mana. She took on the new role of grandmother with joy and a renewed sense of purpose.

She was an active member of the Iranian senior community in Falls Church, VA. For over twenty-five years, she spent time with her friends in the Kanoon -e -Farhangi in the Pimmit Senior Center. The friendships she formed there helped her through some of the worst times in her life when she lost her only child, Shahrzad, to cancer and a few years later when her mother passed away.

She will always be remembered for her love of family and friends. She helped and supported many members of her family through difficulties never asking anything in return. She was a true friend and cared deeply about people. Despite all the difficulties she faced in her personal life, Maliheh loved to tell jokes, dance, and celebrate every birthday and holiday.

Maliheh is survived by a large family who will miss her and deeply feel her absence – grandchildren Parsa, Sebastien, Mana, Jamie, and Noel; Ebi Soroush and Kim-marie Brown; brother Ahmad Moshaveghzadeh; nieces Afsaneh Tibbs and Azar Momeni and nephew, Roger Mahach.

Funeral services will be held at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. For those unable to attend the service may be viewed via the livestream link. Online condolences and fond memories may be offered at www.moneyandking.com
