Margareth Rolfs Brumsted, known to many as Peggy, died June 5th 2019 surrounded by

family. She is survived by her son, Michael Brumsted, her grandsons Erik Westbrook and Joshua

Brumsted, granddaughter Kathryn Brumsted and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in

death by her beloved husband, Capt. Robert Brumsted, her son Mark Brumsted and daughter

Kristin Westbrook.

Peggy was born February 16th, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI. to Dr.Theodore Rolfs and

Martha Rolfs. In her marriage to Robert, she had the opportunity to travel all over the country

and lived in Australia, where Robert served as assistant naval attache. In 1968 the Brumsted

family settled in Vienna, VA, where Peggy became extremely active in the community, through

St. Mark’s Catholic church where she served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister as well as teaching at

Epiphany Preschool for 24 years, retiring in 1998. She dedicated her life to education, charity

work and her faith. Her body will be at St.Marks in Vienna for a viewing and funeral Mass June

28th at 10:00am, with interment at Arlington National Cemetery on August 15th at 9:00am. In

lieu of flowers, please make donations to NAMI Northern Virginia- National Alliance for the

Mentally Ill.
