Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Mary, there are so many memories in my mind and love in my heart for the time you spent holding my hand when I, too, became a copy editor at the AFT. You taught me everything I needed to know. You were my lifeline. The news of your passing is heartbreaking and I will miss you terribly. Love, strength and support to your family and friends. In God’s name, rest in peace sweet girl. Sandy Hendricks

  2. She was so much more than my sister-in-law, she was my sister! Thank you Mary for being there for me so many times in my life. We love you dearly!

  3. Mary Boyd was a buoyant soul, a dedicated unionist and ever helpful to those who called her their friend. Her spirit was and still is memorable and it’s loss leaves a terrible void. My sincerest condolences.

  4. My condolences to Mary’s family & friends. She was a great co-worker who knew the answer to everything.

  5. I enjoyed working with Mary. She was always upbeat and interested in helping her co-workers. Mary always had a dish of candy on her desk which was a great ice breaker. She will be missed. Marlene Ward

  6. I was absolutely devastated to hear the news of Mary’s passing. We worked closely together at AFT for over 10 years. Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and was truly a kind, giving and caring person. I was blessed to have known her. My heart goes out to her entire family and I pray for comfort for them during this time. Heaven has gained an angel for sure.

  7. Aunt Mary always made sure to make me feel so loved whenever I would see her. She was an amazing woman and I will miss her terribly. Carrie (Boyd) Caviness

  8. Mary and I went to college together and remained friends for the last 40 years. We were young hippie chicks trying to emulate the Woodstock Generation. We grew older and our interest changed, yet whenever we spoke, we returned to our youthful memories. My love to Mary’s family and friends. I posted a picture of Mary and our roomates in college. Mary Gnandt

  9. Mary was a great friend to our family. My wife Sharon and her have been best friends forever. You’re kind a gentle ways will truly be missed by all of us.

  10. Mary can best be remembered for her huge personality and kind soul. I can remember the day she brought a turtle to work. She told us that she was afraid he would be hit by a car if left on the side of the road. She made him a makeshift home where he lived like a king for a couple of days. She made friends wherever you went, with the parking attendants, housekeeping, waiters/ waitresses…she would always say “I’ve got this.” Her door was always open for a chat or to grab a piece or so of candy from her well known candy dish. Most of all Mary loved her family. She told us so many stories about her mom and dad, her siblings, her excitement to be asked to watch one of her nieces or nephews for the weekend, or on her birthdays how much she enjoyed recording the time her brothers and sisters called to wish her a happy day. Most of all, she loved talking about her boys, Dan and Sam, and the enormous love and pride she had for each of them. She was more than a friend to me…more like a sister. Fly high with the angels dearest Mary.

    • Mary was a wonderfully positive spirit. She chose to do the work she did because she believed in making the world a more just and fair place for everyone. Rest in peace.

  11. I DIDN’T KNOW MARY, BUT SHE WENT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON RUN BY THE MARIANIST, SOCIETY OF MARY. U.D IS DEDICATION TO OUR BLESSED MOTHER. NOW, MARY IS WITH OUR BLESSED MOTHER FOR ALL ETERNTIY AND ENJOYING THE BEATIFIC VISION OF CHRIST. JIM WOLAN

  12. Dear Sam and Family, Nothing is more difficult than saying goodbye to a beloved mother. You will always miss her, but you know a part of her and a part of you will always be together. Our Deepest Sympathy to you and your family. Leonardo and Catherine
