  1. To the family of Mike: I’ve been friends with Mike for almost 30 years. His care and compassion for others was inspiring. We always had some interesting conversations and even if we didn’t view an issue the same way, we always respected each other’s right to not agree. His love for gardening could sometimes be almost hysterical. Some years the yield from his garden could feed a small village. We used to frequent a Tex-Mex restaurant in Herndon and they were offering a percentage off if you brought in some sort of pepper. He brought almost a full grocery bag of various types and dinner was free for Mike, my husband and me. I used to get bags of tomatoes from him until I told him how to make pasta sauce. After that I’d get a few tomatoes and quarts of sauce instead. He spoke of his family often and loved you very much. He would tell stories of growing up with 3 older siblings and of cherished childhood memories. He was a man of great faith in God, even in difficult times. I know this faith was a great comfort to him up until the end. My condolences for the loss of your brother and uncle. With prayers, Veronica Renner

  2. Dear Cathy, Maureen and family ~ I was so sorry to hear of your brother’s passing. My prayers are with you and all of your family, that your fondest memories will bring you comfort and strength. God’s blessings to all. Kathy (Sedlock) Rogers, Vienna, Va
