Thomas (Tom) Michael Beall (age 78) of Oakton, Virginia passed away surrounded by love on November 11, 2022 after a brave fight with cancer. Tom was a beloved and dedicated husband for 54 years to his wife, Sandra (nee Lock), dear father to his children daughter Kimberly Policicchio (husband, Mike), Justin Beall (wife, Tasha), and grandchildren Thomas Policicchio, Ryan Beall and Whitney Beall. Tom is also survived by his sister Betty Ann Gailliot (husband, Tom) of Alexandria, Virginia and Ormond Beach, Florida and his brother Francis Beall (wife, Jean) of Charlotte, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
Tom grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. He attended St. John's College High School ('62) in Washington, D.C. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Notre Dame ('66) in South Bend, Indiana, and earned a graduate degree from George Washington University ('71) in Washington, D.C. He retired from the Army as a Captain and served in the Vietnam War. Tom had a long and successful career with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Tom proudly served as a Senior Intelligence Officer specializing in global financial management. His service included a tour at the US Embassy in Bonn, Germany; Inspector General Staff, and his career culminated as the Deputy Director of Finance. He was awarded the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal for exceptional leadership and outstanding service. After retiring from the Agency, he served as the Treasurer for the Central Intelligence Retirees Association.
Tom will be truly missed by his devoted and loving family and many friends.
A visitation with his family will be held on Thursday, November 17 from 2pm to 4pm at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 18 at 10:30am at St. Mark Catholic Church in Vienna, Virginia. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

Dear, Sandy, Kim, and Justin,
Sandy, I know how lonely and empty you feel right now because marriage is the closest bond that we experience on earth.
Kim and Justin, it was so obvious over the years just how much you loved and respected your dad. You were all very blessed to have such a loving husband and father to share your lives with.
What a truly wonderful person he was. I was fortunate to have shared my family with yours for well over fifty years that were filled with lots of happy times and sad times too. If we look back over the years, the happy far out weighted the sad and we helped each other get through the sad and enjoy the happy.
I know that you will find comfort in knowing that you did all that was possible to make Tom’s end of life so comforting and meaningful to him.
You can’t see him right now, but he is with you and looking down on you with such love and a beautiful glow on his face because he is not suffering. Maybe he is sitting with his pal Bob.
My heart is full of sorrow for all of you as you mourn the loss of husband, father and grandfather. Our lives have been intertwined for 45 years since we drove our boys to preschool together. The memories of your wonderful and full life together will sustain you as you approach the next phase of your life.
I pray God will be with you all and keep you in His loving embrace and give you strength and courage to move forward. Our family members may be gone but they remain with us always as we cherish the years we had together.
Tom was a wonderful man who touched so many lives. He will be missed by all. He is now at rest and peace with his Heavenly Father and that will give you comfort. You will meet again in glory.
I offer my deepest condolences to Tom’s family. I came to know and work with Tom when we both served on the Board of the CIA Retirees Association (CIRA) where Tom served as the Association’s Treasurer for many years. His warmth, compassion, sincerity, and commitment to the thousands of CIRA members who were fellow alumni of the organization that Tom served for a long career were so very memorable. If I had to choose one word to describe Tom it would be “caring.” I cannot imagine the pain that his passing has brought to his family as I only had the privilege of knowing and working with Tom for a relatively short period of time. But long enough to know that his character was one that we should all aspire to, and appreciate. I am truly very sad that he is no longer with us but know he is with our God.

My memory of Tom is one of a loving, caring, devoted husband & father. I didn’t have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him due to distance but whenever I was I enjoyed every minute. We were blessed to be together at a family reunion about 10 years ago and I enjoyed every minute. He will be dearly missed and I offer my deepest condolences to the family
