Vincent Anthony Shedlock passed away at home on November 20, 2019 at the age of 98. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jewell,parents, Michael Shedlock and Mary Palcher Shedlock, eight brothers and sisters; Anna Kaperak, Michael, John, Mary Null, Martin, Helen Ax, Rose Stack and Margaret Phillips, granddaughter Christine Shedlock. and son-in-law Roger Neighborgall.

He is survived by his sister, Agnes Hanchovsky of Cleveland, OH; children Linda Neighborgall of Falls Church, James (Donna) Shedlock of McLean, VA, Kaye (Rick Hasbrouck) Shedlock of Golden, CO, and Carol (Mark Knight) Shedlock of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren Katie and Karen Shedlock, Virginia and Graham Knight, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Vincent was born in Ramey, PA on April 9, 1921. He moved to the Washington, DC area to work as a machinist at the Navy Yard during WWII. He served in the Army from October 1945 to December 1946. He settled with his wife Jewell in Mt. Rainier, MD where he began to raise a family. They later moved to Chillum, MD where they lived for the next 36 years. Vince and Jewell moved to Vienna, VA in 1991 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. He resided here with Jewell until she died in 2007.

After his Army service, Vince went to work as a machinist with Cauthen and Slocum in Washington, DC. He later worked at Machinists, Inc. until his retirement in 1986. He was the President of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union Local 193 from 1964 to 1989. He was a proud union member for 65 years.

A viewing will be held Monday, November 25, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Ave W, Vienna, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 26, 11:30 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd, Vienna, Virginia. Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Scholarship Fund
