Passed away at his residence in Rockville, MD on Thursday,
January 17, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Mary Kay Shelton;
Devoted father of William D. Shelton and Susan S. Seidman;
Grandfather of Jean F. Shelton, Alexandra C. Ruiz, Ricky E. Ruiz,
Jackson D. Shelton and Mia S. Ruiz.; Brother of Don Shelton, Dale Shelton and Dolores
Delanoy. A life celebration service will
be held at the Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave.,
Vienna, Va., on Saturday, January 26th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers,
Donations may be made to Hearts & Homes for Youth, Inc., 3919

As leader of PRC, Wayne was a great contributor to the technology community during its period of rapid growth. My condolences.

I remember Wayne from his time at PRC as well. In particular back in the late 1980’s I think, PRC was going thru many changes including acquisitions by a number of firms. I do remember that Wayne called for an “all-hands” one day and asked all of the staff (100’s) to meet in the PRC cafeteria for a major announcement (I think it was the Black and Decker merger). Although I was a senior manager at the time, I never met Wayne until then. I remember being very impressed that he not only asked me and others who we were, and what we did at PRC, but that he was sincerely appreciative of our efforts at the company and gave us confidence that the future would be bright for us. I also recall that he was taller than most men (maybe I am wrong) but he crouched low to speak to several staff who were sitting at tables. This was a great sign of respect and courtesy for us and many of us talked about it after the meeting. He was a great leader for us. I do not recall what he did later in life and I hope that more information might be available at some point for those of us who can not attend the ceremony.

I just found out about Wayne. I never forget his kindness and assistant to me and my family when I immigrated to US back in 1979. He was an angle sent by God. I owe my life to Wayne and Bob Shumate during the hardest time of my life. God be with them. They will be in our hearts for ever.
