Alan J. Lee of McLean, VA passed away peacefully on February 25, 2010, at his home. Loving husband of Elizabeth Lee; devoted father of Jacob, Harry, and Megan Lee; son of Song-Pai and the late Sylvia Lee; brother of Dr. Linda Lee(Jesse Halvorsen). Alan is also survived by his aunts and uncles Nancy and Jeff Hwang, Charles and Janet Chen; niece and nephew Emilia and Ben Halvorsen and numerous cousins.

I knew Alan at CUA. I was Claudia’s roommate before she started caring for Alan. We spent many great times together in Monroe Hall, taking late evening road trips to Bob’s ice cream on Capital Hill and one great night when we went to see Billy Joel together. Alan was a terrific guy with a great sense of humor, a zest for life and a lot of fun. My deepest sympathies to his family.
I knew Alan from Monroe Hall at Catholic U. We had a lively dorm, and Alan was a big part of that. Our majors were quite different but we still had lively discussions. I recall his sense of humor: often wry, with his face curled in a smile; sometimes a bit dark, but usually in good supply. Once he told me he didn’t think he’d find a girlfriend, so I was glad to learn that he married and had a family. What his body could not do for him was more than made up by his mind and spirit. Alan, you are appreciated and missed.
