Yitin, I just got news of Al’s passing and am so sorry. We will all miss his bright face and ever present humor. I also thought about you and the years we worked the Spain Account together. Those were good years. I see the service was yesterday so won’t be able to express my condolances in person. Just wanted you to know I will miss Al and to let you know you were in my thoughts. I hope our paths cross again soon. Fond regards, Will Elledge
Dear Vita: I was so sorry to find out about the passing of your husband. We’ve never met, but I worked with your husband a few years ago, but recently got to see him more regularly at 5:30 PM Sunday Mass at OLGC. He was such a wonderful person and friend. I just happen to turn thru the Washington Post obiturary pages on Monday, 23 May, and saw his picture. I would have wanted to attend the viewing at the funeral home, but you can be assured Al will be in my prayers. May he rest in Peace and be welcomed into the Light of God’s presence for eternity. May God bless you and your family as you cope with your grief over his loss.
Al and I roomed together at West Point during Beast Barracks. My family was from Maine (Rumford, Dixfield, Grey) so we sort of hit it off. After Beast, Al moved to A-2 while I moved over to the other runt company M-1. After graduation I too went into the Air Force so I knew Al was around. He was a good man and will be missed by all of us. Walt Patterson, USMA 1958
