Dan, Lizzy and Ben,
My sincere condolences to your family. Cherish and find strength in the beautiful memories of Alexis. She is now your Beautiful Angel watching over you❤️
Dear Press Family – Alexis was our classmate this summer at ODU in the Career Switcher program. I will always remember her speaking french! She had such a love for it, and was so happy to be sharing with us her passion for teaching that beautiful language. Praying for peace in this difficult time. Au Revoir for now Alexis – until we say Bonjour in heaven.
To the Press Family,
Alexis was my student in this summer’s ODU Career Switcher Program. Not only did she know and love the French language, but she had a zest for learning how to share that knowledge with young people. Her demonstration lessons were creative, thoughtful, and zany: just what I would expect from Alexis. She had a dynamic career and a fulfilling family life, yet felt called to become a teacher. It was a privilege to get to know her. My heart goes out to you, her family, and all of her close friends, but also to those students who never had the opportunity to experience her superb teaching and joie de vivre. Avec mes condoleances les plus sinceres, Jen Carson
I had the opportunity to do my Career Switcher program with Alexis. We were the only two students doing the Foreign Languages program. She was kind and intelligent! She had so much knowledge to share to the world.
Dan, Ben, Elizabeth,
Our sincere condolences to you all on the loss of your wife and Mom. I think I only had the honor of meeting her a couple of times at a scouting/OA event; but I know she was your foundation for your family just like all Moms are. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers, and that God will comfort you and keep you close, in your time of mourning. May God Bless You All.
Hi Alexis, I fondly remember our daughter’s times in the VGSL girls fastpitch league where you proudly announced your daughter, Lizzy, hit that home run. We talked frequently when our daughters were in girl scouts together. You frequently boasted of Ben’s Boy Scout and other accomplishments. You were a dedicated Mom, full of energy, and very proud of your children. I’ll miss our conversations and times together. I wish your family God’s peace during this difficult time.
My heart goes for Dan Press family. I don’t have words how to express my condolence. May her soul rest in peace. My prayers are with Dan.Ben, Elizabeth .zmay God give to strength to cherries her memories. I know it’s a very tough time . God bless you! Baljit Kochhsr
Sending you prayers and asking God to comfort you and your family, Dan.
I have never known Alexis to say no to any activity. She walked for the rights of women, walked for the prevention of suicide, breast cancer, and many more than I don’t know. She had more energy than anybody I know and she loved her family deeply. Alexis died way too soon and Tony and I will miss her deeply. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Dan, Ben and Elizabeth.
I will miss you, mon amie, your smile and your sparkle. May warm memories comfort your family. Sending my heartfelt sympathy to your family.
My deepest condolences to you and your family, Dan. I didn’t have the joy of knowing your wife, but it’s obvious that she was a beautiful woman, full of joie de vivre, who cared deeply about her family, friends and fellow humans and made the world a better place. May her spirit carry on and may your memories bring you comfort.
With great sorrow, we would like to express our condolences to the Press family and her mother. Having known Alexis for over 40 years, I will miss her very much. Bob and Elaine Paulson

We will pray continuously that your family finds peace while heaven has clearly gained an angel – – far too soon The Riebling Family, Vienna, Virginia
Oh Dan, Carrie and I just learned about Alexis’s passing. I just can’t believe it. She was always such a firebrand; full of energy and enthusiasm. I will always remember lovingly of our trips around Europe all those years ago in Nice. We had the best time staying in $5 a night hostels and my favorite one of all was when she and I hitch hiked with a Turkish truck driver. It didn’t matter where we were going we just wanted the experience of hitch hiking. She was game for anything. She will always have a special place in our hearts. With much love to you, Ben and Elizabeth, Tammy
Dear Alexi, fellow francophile and study-abroad-in-Nice-buddy,
We are just learnining of your passing and could not be sadder. Although we haven’t talked much in the last couple of years, I have often thought of the bright light of your energy, enthusiasm and sense of humor. I have fond memories of our travel together, eating croissants, omelettes and salade nicoise in Nice, and the adventures of seeing Europe as 20 year-olds. I know you treasured all that was French and was glad to see you were living it in becoming a French teacher. With heartfelt condolences for Dan, Benjamin and Lizzie.
